The Primary Tenet of a Centenarian Company
Feng Lin Holdings (M) Berhad aspires to become a centenarian company. We aim to continuously grow and prosper for the coming century. We hope that our investors are able to inherit their family’s investment project through the company for 3 generations.
Feng Lin was established by a team of serial entrepreneurs from different professional backgrounds and plantation specialists with more than 35 years of farming experience and across the Southeast Asia region. We specialise in tree dwarfing technology, old tree rejuvenation technology, research and farming technology research and development and etc.
Apart from our passion for farming technology innovation, we also restlessly pursue to break the tradition and push beyond our limit to revamp the durian industry and introduce a more exquisite tasting experience to durian lovers from all over the world.
The Visionaries
Nicky Ng is the founder of Feng Lin Holdings (M) Bhd. Mr. Ng is also the Chief Executive Director of the Group. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) in the civil disciplinary and a member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM).
Mr. Ng graduated with first-class honour from the National University of Malaysia (Department of Civil and Structural Engineering). During his study at the National University of Malaysia, he was presented “Dean Awards” for all semesters, “Ranhill Bersekutu Award” along with few other awards. He started to demonstrate strong leadership and entrepreneurship skills at this stage. After graduation, while working as a geotechnical engineer specializes in deep excavation, with precise investment vision and in-depth insights, he founded few profitable companies in different fields, ranged from construction, trading and F&B. Mr. Ng weathered the storms of various changes before he founded Feng Lin with his partners.
After venturing into various business divisions, Mr. Ng capitalised on his problem-solving skills and social networking established throughout his engineering background and entrepreneurship experience, allowing him to establish Feng Lin by gathering talents from different backgrounds e.g. agriculture, finance, management specialists and etc.
His goal is to improve traditional durian plantations by innovating existing planting techniques using science and engineering knowledge. Therefore, he founded Feng Lin, focusing on data-driven agriculture and ongoing research in revamping planting techniques, which aims to set the grounds for the sustainable durian plantation of the future. Mr. Ng starts from the “root”, aims to lead the Group to reach new heights and achieve more breakthroughs in future durian plantations.
Mr Hew is the founder of Feng Lin Berhad and is primarily responsible for the finance and strategic planning of the company. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA).
He started his career with Robert Bosch (M) Sdn Bhd as a management trainee. Thereafter he started working with accounting firm KPMG, McMillan Woods and public listed companies involved in various industries e.g semiconductor, food & beverage, security software and etc covering financial management, treasury, risk management, budgeting, prior to starting up Feng Lin Berhad.
He saw the underlying potential risks and opportunities of Malaysia’s Durian industry, especially when looking back at the history of Malaysia’s anchor industries like semiconductors, gloves and etc from intensive competition among more than 300 SMEs to few major public listed companies as major suppliers in the world. He inspires to bring the Durian industry to the global stage via capital financing, business model and his past experiences on top of the advanced technologies to plant durian.
Wong joined Feng Lin Holdings (M) Bhd in 2021 as the Co-founder and was appointed as Executive Director of the Group together with the role of Chief Operating Officer to oversee the day-to-day administration and to manage the overall operational functions of the Group.
He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) from Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL). With 13 years of experience in the construction & engineering industry, his portfolio in various capacities includes operations, project management, contract administration, audit & quality management, risk analysis management, human resources, cost control and other major functional areas as part of an organization where his analytical, organizational and managerial skills can be utilized to aid in the growth of the Group, with align to the overall business strategies and achieve goals of the Group.
He sees that Smart Farming as a trend nowadays to drive the agriculture business to grow efficiently and exponentially by data management and precision analytical to make farming more controlled and accurate as data have become the key element in modern agriculture to support resources optimization, critical management decision-making and lead farming to high-quality yield productivity, profitability and sustainability.
